Alice In Chains have just announced the title of their new album, “Black Gives Way To Blues”, which is set for release on September 29, 2009.

The new album is the band’s first record in ten years and it will showcase the vocal talents of new singer William DuVall.
The band is set to perform on July 18, 2009 alongside Kid Rock at Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan, and will be doing a European tour this summer.
However good DuVall sounds, I still miss Layne Staley.

Get ready for Alice In Chains 2.0, featuring William DuVall from the band Comes With The Fall.

This will be the band’s first foray back into the realm of music since the death of frontman Layne Staley. May he rest in peace.
Check out William’s singing, in case you’re curious (I was):
The album is still untitled and is set for release this September.
DuVall says, “It’s a big thing. I’ve joined a group that has a strong identity and a strong legacy.”
Think he can fill the shoes of the once almighty Layne Staley?
